The procedure of washing the gear is simple and it is possible to be done from the homes or they can be taken to the laundry for specialized services. Hand washing of mostly preferred because it does not destroy the fabric and because they are very soft. However, washing machines can also be used especially at the laundry places where a small fee is charged for this service.

The first step done is washing the cloth with cold running water. This helps to remove any solid particles that could be held within the fabrics. It also helps to dissolve salt and sweat that is usually absorbed by the cloth. This practice is very essential especially where laundry machines are applicable because it prevents clogging of these machines by the dirt particles.

The cloth is then put in a bucket of cold water that is mixed with various washing conditioners. The role of soaking at this stage is to weaken the stubborn dirt elements such are sweat which do not come out easily. The conditioners also help to protect and improve the quality of the fabrics making them strong. For great results, the clothes should be soaked for a few minutes before the actual washing is done.

Actual washing of clothes involves scrubbing the clothes gently using very soft washing brushes or towels in the case of hand washing. The scrubbing can also be done using soft towels or the material is rubbed gently against itself. Once all the dirt has been removed, clean water is used to rinse the clothes to eliminate all excess soap and the dirty water.

To get the best result, the wet clothes must be allowed to dry well under the suitable conditions. The clothes need to be hung using hungers specifically made for this use. This ensures proper positioning and prevents the cloth from folding. The hanging should be done in a place where direct heating from the sun is minimal and this helps to protect the quality of the material from damage.

Laundry practices should be observed in cleaning of these suits. Hot water should not be used because it causes the fabrics to stretch thus the cloth becomes enlarged. When drying, the sun and use of drying machines should be avoided as well to maintain the quality of a cloth.

Cleaning is very important and should be carried out often to ensure the clothes remain in good condition. It is therefore advisable to follow the correct order during washing. This will result in properly maintaining the good aspects of the sporting gear.
