Top Target Areas For Botox

By Anka Sanori

There are many cosmetic reasons for which Botox injections are widely used. As more people seek to change their looks and shave off years with this simple and quick treatment, there has been a significant increase in its use in the last few years. Its popularity is primarily due to the speed of the procedure, the simplicity of the whole process, the quality results and how affordable it generally is.

Their most common site botox application is to the muscles and skin on the face, helping relax them and reducing the presence of fine lines and wrinkles. There are three main sites that are most commonly injected:

- Forehead wrinkles

- Crow's feet lines around the eyes

- Vertical '11' lines between eyebrows

Forehead wrinkles

This is probably the most common site amongst the three above where botox is injected, and is commonly called frown lines. The skin and muscles on the forehead are constantly being used and as a result are always under stress - this is why frown lines and wrinkles form here so often. As one of the first signs of aging, it is targeted first. Forehead lines seem to be the most troublesome amongst all facial creases for patients. The treatment does not require anaesthesia; it is simple, quick and effective. Repeat injections are usually required to preserve the crease-free look, but effects can last up to 6 months.

Crow's feet lines around the eyes

Due to constant muscle use, fine lines form at the corners of the eyes - these are referred to as crow's feet. As a sign of aging, it is unfortunate yet unavoidable. Without giving the skin a stretched appearance, Botox injections can effectively reduce these lines and restore the look of young, healthy skin. Crow's feet are very common, so they are the next popular treatment after frown lines. As is the case with other botox treatments, effects can last for a period of up to 6 months following which additional treatments may be required.

Vertical '11' lines

When frowning, these are the two lines that form between the eyebrows. Botox injections help to smooth them out effectively and reduce the depth of these lines. The procedure takes around 10 to 15 minutes to perform and the results are excellent.

These are the top 3 sites where botox is injected on the face. Botox injections around the mouth may be performed, and there are other sites like chin lifts, although these are much less common.

Conclusion

For excellent cosmetic results that offer younger looking skin free of wrinkles and fine lines, one of the most preferred treatments is still Botox.
