How Kettlebell Exercises Changed My Life

By Greg Diener

Being a very wee lad it was very tough for me to get in shape since I was regularly made fun of for my appearance. I did not have many places to hang out in after school, but a place I would regularly turn to was a rusted old gymnasium that was placed right near a restaurant. It was at this place where I learned how to get myself in tip-top shape. Among the many items of exercise equipment that I mastered were the kettlebells. This article as explained shows how kettlebell exercises can be a great thing to have in your life.

So, you might be asking, what are kettlebells? They're a bit like dumbbells, by the theory behind it are radically different. They look like metal spheres with handles on the end. That is the secret to their success. Kettlebell exercises are, actually the single quickest way to get bulked up.

Kettlebell training is different from conventional weightlifting in a number of important ways. Whereas weightlifting is mainly for muscle building, kettlebell exercises build muscles while also serving as aerobic exercises as well. This way, instead of just doing one thing during your exercise time, kettlebell training lets you do twice as much at the same time. And, with our perpetually filled schedules, that is never a bad thing.

Kettlebell aerobics are done by taking the kettlebells and lilting them around. If that sounds easy, well, let me tell you from training that it really isn't. Kettlebells generally weigh from as small as four pounds all the way up to in excess of two hundred. Obviously, you're going to embark on the smaller side.

However, that truly is all that you have to do. Kettlebell exercises don't need you to buy huge gym memberships or bulky gadgets; if you know what you're doing, you can definitely do it at home. However, if you're just starting out with kettlebells, it might be a good idea for you to work with a professional coach or gym.
