People are gifted with five senses. These senses are the smell, hear, touch, and sight. If one of it fails to function, surely that a person will really have difficulty in doing the things she or he has to do. This is the reason why we really have to give care of those body parts which gave us these senses so we can grow old maximizing it.

One of these senses that human beings rely so much is the sight. We can definitely say that our eyes are very important for us. It is good to have enough light but it is not advisable to look at intense light. Staring into this kind of light can potentially damage the cells inside your retina. This is the reason why ophthalmologist tells you not to stare at light bulbs for a very long time or direct your telescopes or binoculars to the sun.

Always eat foods that are rich in Vitamin A. Clinical researches has proved that this nutrient help protect the cells of the eyes from toxic damages. Foods that are rich in Vitamin A are the carrots, spinach, and watercress. If you do not have enough Vitamin A in your system, then you will get night blindness or you cannot see clearly in dark places.

But the best thing to do is visiting your ophthalmologist regularly. People who have eye problem history within the family need this more. Your ophthalmologist will give you the correct treatment that you need and get advices on how to avoid worsening your eye problem.
