Make Travel Easier With Active Lifestyle Clothing

By Eliza Mendoza

You've booked your flight, you've mapped out a route and you have an idea of what you want to see and do. Now the only thing left before you can go on your trip is to pack. While jeans are always comfortable and versatile, they're not very practical for traveling because they're so heavy and bulky. With active lifestyle clothing, however, you can look stylish and be comfortable and your trip will be a breeze.

Some of the most stylish sports clothes around are for indoor activities such as yoga or dancing. They're comfortable too and because they don't look overtly sporty, they're very versatile. A nice-looking sweater is a great choice for cooler weather while yoga or dance pants are flattering and make for great sleepwear too.

If you're planning on being an active traveler, you'll also need the right clothes for the outdoors. Especially pants should be durable and strong for trekking through rugged terrain. Find a pair that has lots of pockets for those little things like sunscreen. For even more practicality, pack a pair of pants that you can easily convert from long pants into shorts by unzipping the legs.

An essential for any trip is swimwear. While tiny bikinis are wonderful for a beach holiday, you may also want to pack something more suitable for water sports. For women, a tankini with boy shorts is great because you can wear the top as normal daywear too while for men, a pair of boardshorts is one of the most versatile pieces of clothing you can have in your luggage.

Many people make the mistake of packing too many pairs of underwear. However, if you choose wisely, you won't need more than three pairs. Synthetic fabrics or cotton-and-Lycra blends are good choices because they dry very quickly. Women should also take at least one sports bra for activities such as hiking or horse-riding.

Since you'll be doing a lot of walking, comfortable shoes are very important. It may be enough to take a pair of sneakers instead of bulky hiking boots but do your research beforehand. Good sandals are great too, especially in warmer climates. Pack a pair of flip flops too for the shower, the beach or for those times when you need to give aching feet a rest.

Pack a pair or two of socks too. Wool is warm but takes ages to dry, so consider acrylic or a cotton mix instead. Another wonderfully practical accessory is a bandanna, which can keep the sun off your head, keep you cool and is a life saver when you didn't have time to wash your hair.

There are many options when it comes to active lifestyle clothing. You'll find it in most clothing shops but the greatest variety is available from outdoors and sports shops. Choose wisely and you'll find that it's incredibly versatile too.
