The Silliest Weight Loss Products

By Andrew Jones

The current market is packed full of all kinds of weight loss products today. Some of the time these items are legitimately supposed to help people lose weight. There are plenty of other products, on the other hand, that seem to be thought up for no other purpose than making a bunch of money off of people who are feeling desperate. There are a number of products which are so totally outrageous we decided to write about them here so that, hopefully, our readers won't fall for the false promises made by these products.

Have you noticed the weight loss ring yet? This is a small piece of silver that coils about your index finger several times. The concept behind this band is that it places adequate force on the pressure points that are designed to help you lose weight. Science has confirmed that your system does have a few legitimate pressure points. Seabands, for one instance, were produced to hold pressure on the points that control feelings of motion sickness. The idea that a small ring has the ability to help you lose weight (actively is the key here, as decoration it probably works okay) is just dumb.

Have you seen the neck line slimmer yet? Through the use of vibration, it is a product that, supposedly, helps you firm up the muscles in your neck so that you won't have any more unsightly loose or hanging skin. Any physician worth his co-pay will tell you that when you have a bunch of extra skin hanging off of your face or your neck, the skin has already been stretched out and is unlikely, even if your neck muscles strengthen, to shrink back up into the firm skin of your youth. If you're anxious about the skin on your neck, see your doctor.

Have you already found the Belly Burner Weight Loss Belt? This is a belt that utilizes heat to help you, basically, melt off your weight--without having to do anything else. From what we can tell the belt was created to heat your core which is speculated to make the pounds fall through... what? We have yet to truly determine that out. While we could explain that working up a sweat can actually help you burn some calories, there isn't any guarantee that they can only be burned off in the same area that you are wearing the belt. A fast consult with your doctor should verify that this item isnt meant to do anything more than get your money.

Believe it or not there are people around whose main goal is to get your money. They understand that you're sensitive and insecure about your body and that you would like nothing more than to lose some weight so they prey on those emotions. A massive amount people want practically nothing more than to get rid of weight but don't want to do the work that it takes to get them there. More people would probably benefit from the process if it were simple. Losing excess weight, often, is actually hard. There is simply no magic pill, clothing item or accessory that does the job for you.
